Dovetail Construction
You may be surprised to know that the dovetail joint is believed to pre-date written history. Early examples have been found in furniture pieces that were entombed with mummies from First Dynasty of Egypt. Dovetailing has also been seen in the tombs of Chinese emperors. The most common example found is referred to as a "half-blind" dovetail joint. This method will keep the end grain solid, providing a more pleasant appearance.

Full Wood Drawers

Our high quality full wood drawers are one of our most requested cabinet upgrades. Assembled with an interlocking (dovetail) construction there is no mistaking these drawers with the average staple and glue variety. Our full wood drawers are made with 5/8" thick natural maple, with a 3/8" thick maple plywood bottom. The undermount glide system is a 3/4 extension and feature a positive stop to prevent the drawer from being accidentally pulled out. Our "full-access" cabinet styles (Cascade, Georgetown, Georgetown Arch, Dakota, Shaker, Mission, Windsor, and Rose Hill) all come standard with the wood drawers.

Only the "framed" styles (Belwood, Belwood Arch, Madison, Hillcrest, Brunswick, Parkwood, Parkwood Arch, Florence, Florence Arch, Woodland, Woodland Arch, Summerfield 1 Maple, Summerfield 2 Maple, Summerfield 1 Cherry, Summerfield 2 Cherry, Arcadia Maple, Arcadia Cherry, North Brook Maple, & North Brook Cherry) would need this upgrade, if desired.

We feature the best that the industry has to offer, the Blum Blumotion Tandem with Soft Close glides. They provide unprecedented durability and strength, and with a simple squeeze on the bottom you can effortlessly release the entire drawer for easy cleaning. This upgrade can be added to either the "framed" or "full access" lines, but please note that it is only available if your cabinets have full wood drawers.
